It's about a police traffic sting on Appleway and/or Sprague between Park and Dishman-Mica. I'm sure most of us are in favor of traffic enforcement, since safer drivers means safer riding. Unfortunately, this kind of operation makes riding more dangerous for bicyclists.
I looked at the Spokane Regional Bike Map, and it appears that the section of roadway in question has a bike lane; if fact, they're using the bike lane to pull over drivers and write tickets! It unnecessarily creates a dangerous obstacle for cyclists traveling in the bike lane. It seems that our police departments believe the bike lanes are not lanes of traffic.
Am I unreasonably angry about this?
