hippestman:
"Ten thousand times cooler than just black" Are you sure about this? I'm gonna need to see the data on this one. Black goes with everything, black tie affairs, little black cocktail dresses. When's the last time you heard of a little clear cocktail dress anyways?
Never, but I'd have to see a few to evaluate their worthiness.
Patrick: The bike I'm powder coating is an rb-t (this one). the oragne paint it is not original and it was rattle can painted, so i don't feel bad about re-doing it. I have new forks for it that will get powder coated too, along with the original ones. The plan is to build this bike:

This is alex's rb-t with the same fork I'm putting on there. you can read about it here.
I think it would be cool to keep it clear so you can see the original work on the bridgestone frame.
Then today, I was at the Scoop looking at a sign (patrick: the brain freeze one that is blue, with the yellow-ish exclamation point on it) -- the yellow is really kind of babyshit mustardy and I started thinking about really ugly colors.
What if I found the ugliest color that was available in powdercoating and put it on such a great bike; it might have that ironic opposite effect and look really good... and i would be extra cool because then i could act like i really don't care, "oh, i just found the ugliest paint -- it worked-- whatever..."
