    The All New Midnight Century

I have rethought the midnight century for 2008. I think that this town is ready for something more interesting. There is some basic information at: http://chefdavidblaine.googlepages.com/themidnightcentury

I do think it will be fun. I know that it is a challenging event to be sure but it could be the highlight of the year. I often think back to the most memorable rides of the previous year and they are almost always the ones that required a little grit and determination to get through.

July 26th sounds good. Will be my first try and I'm looking forward to it.

I have been working on the route and if you want to know what the ride is all about this year then taste test Elder Road between Valley Chapel and Freeman. Scenic, bumpy and occasionally hilly.

I have decided to make this years addition of the midnight century an invitation only affair. If you want an invite drop me a line: chefdavidblaine(at)gmail(dot)com. I am doing this to avoid having to worry about getting back from the GDR in time for the ride. I am going to announce the route and the time at a point in the dark, mysterious future. It will still be a dirty affair with long miles on palouse farm roads including a few "summer roads".
