This is a great great classic american made road/racing bike.
Columbus tubing, silver brazed, standard tubing. This frame would start at $1000 today and you'd have to have ti custom made.

Auction's been updated - turns out it's not a 970 after all, but an older frame painted to look like a 970. I checked the serial number he posted on the vintage Trek site and it corresponds to an '81 750.
Interesting. All the same, still a great bike. Of course you'd have to strip/powdercoat it knowing that. I bet it rides wonderfully.
