  • Re: 2/28 sunday morning ride -- different meeting spot

I'm tied up.  Damn.  I love it out there.  Have a good ride.

  • Re: 1/18 - Sunday Breakfast Ride

I'm contemplating menudo.  (I'm so brave in the comfort of my living room.)

  • Re: Sunday 1/04: DeLeon's breakfast ride

Slippery, cold-ass ride. Gut soup for breakfast. Nothing cancels. What's not to love, I'm in.   My diet/dull life starts Mon, aka no more beer :-( so I'm thinking about peeling off on the return trip and pub crawling my way back along N monroe.  Anyone who feels like getting a good Sunday ...

  • Re: City Bike Advice

The bike you have in mind sounds like fun.  I've been checking out the Simple City 8 myself this week - there's a lot to like about that bike at that price (not that I need another bike right now.)  I don't know enough about front load geometry to know if it's right on that bike.  The bars might ...

  • Re: Need Dyno Light Recommendation

The bike's not tangible yet, it's still vapor.  Nobody wants to read about my daydreams.  Not only that, I'd run the risk of jinxing it.  I'm sure that you must understand these things. As for peas, I recall this poem that I learned in second grade: I eat my peas with honey I've done it all my life It makes the ...

  • Re: Need Dyno Light Recommendation

Damn, just ordered a Fly halogen from PW yesterday afternoon.  Peter hisself is out on vaca for a couple more weeks and I couldn't get much help from anyone else at the shop, so had to rely on what I could glean from his site and other places I looked.  I have a new bike coming together and I was impatient to get ...

  • Need Dyno Light Recommendation

I'm gonna try a dyno hub light system this year.  I'm using a Shimano Alfine hub, std 6V-3W.  I'm trying to sort through the multitude of light options.  LED vs halogen, standlight vs none, switching options, etc, etc, etc.  If you've had experience with dyno lights, it would be great to hear your thoughts.

  • Re: 2009 Raleigh one-way

Cool.  Too bad Columbia Cycle is history, they'd be stocking one or two for sure.  What's that in the middle of the top tube, anyway?

  • Re: Kogswell Frame -- bulk load -- cheap

John, I'm interested.  But tell me.  In layman's terms, what does this mean? - they were built w/ 31.8 downtubes instead of the 28.6 so they're more like the G1 59s

  • Establishments Televising TdF?

Eateries, pubs, coffee shops . . . these are the ones I know about: The Swamp - I heard Joe say last year when he first opened that he would be televising it.  Haven't been by yet to see for myself. Madeleine's - I've also heard it's showing here, but can't say firsthand. Spoke N Jo's - I know for sure that it's ...
